Dr Farine Clarke.
Corporate Expertise combined with first-hand knowledge of General Practice.
Farine is our non-executive Chairman. She qualified from St George's Hospital Medical School in 1986.
In 1996 she joined Haymarket publishing, moving from editorial to senior management roles, becoming Publishing Director and then Managing Director of Haymarket Medical Ltd. In 2002 she became Managing Director of Archant Specialist Publishing.
Farine left corporate life in 2007 to focus on her writing and other business interests. Since then she has written two books, 'How to Manage Your GP Practice', which translates her experience in business for General Practice. The second, 'How to Manage Dementia in General Practice' is co-authored with her husband Dr Nick Clarke, a consultant Old Age Psychiatrist.
Farine continues to act as a business advisor and her recent roles include; Trustee of The Willow Foundations, a charity providing special days for younger adults, and Non-Executive Director at Brighton and Sussex University Hospital Trust.
Farine firmly believes that key business practices can be used to strengthen general practice, and that, with the right tools, GP Federations can define the local healthcare economy to the benefit of the local GPs and their patients.
